A forty-year
resident, Susan Dobak came to Tustin with her late
husband, a U.S. Marine Corps officer. She and her
husband raised their three children in a friendly
and safe setting with outstanding schools. Susan was
a PTO president, a Girl Scout leader and a member of
the Tustin Assistance League.
She also
managed a 30-year career in entertainment production
and marketing, During those years, she worked on a
number of television shows and at the Disney Channel
during its launch. She was a producer on special
live events, including the 1984 Olympics, Super Bowl
Halftime Shows, the Pan American Games Opening
Ceremony and an anniversary celebration for the
Sultan of Oman. In the ‘90s, she worked as a
Marketing Director for a global business publishing
and tradeshow company.
In retirement, Susan
chose to give back to the community that had offered
so much to her family. Since 2002, she has been an
active leader in organizations such as the UCI
Senior Center Advisory Board, Inside the Outdoors
Foundation, the Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts.
the Old Town Art Walk Committee, Assistance League
of Santa Ana, PEO Chapter DI, Crescendo Chapter of
the Guilds of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, and
the Tustin Community Foundation.
In forty
years, she has watched Tustin grow from 45,000 to
nearly 80,000 residents. As the City’s population
expanded, the need for community services increased
and more non-profit organizations surfaced. Susan
believes community foundations offer residents and
local businesses the opportunity to support broad
regional philanthropic activity, and to provide
citizens with a variety of critical services and
resources. This is why she supports the Tustin
Community Foundation, and serves on the Executive
Board of the Foundation.
