to Purchase New Band Uniforms

Each year, working in conjunction with the Tustin Community Foundation, the City of Tustin donates non-taxpayer profits from event to a worthy Tustin cause.

Just before Concerts in the Park on Tuesday evening, July 14, the City of Tustin and Tustin Community Foundation presented band director, Michael Fisk, and band members from Tustin High School a check for $12,000. This check completed the band’s $25,000 booster efforts at raising funds to replace uniforms that have been used for over 10 years.

“The City of Tustin is a close-knit community with a tradition of giving and sharing,” said Jerry Amante. “The City of Tustin financially supports our local schools on many levels because they add significantly to the high quality of life here in Tustin. We are looking forward to seeing and hearing our hometown high school’s band as they open the parade, performing through the streets of Tustin in their smart new uniforms at Tiller days this fall!”

The 26th annual Tustin Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off, one of Tustin’s largest non-profit fundraisers, took place on the streets of Old Town Tustin on June 6. The event featured the Chili Cook-Off, craft booths, non-profit food vendors, entertainment, kids’ carnival, music, Battle of the Bands, and much more.

After the City recovered expenses for staffing and maintenance, the remainder was donated to local non-profits. Past non-profits that have benefited from the proceeds of the event include Tustin High Dance Team, Tustin Historical Society and Tustin Area Council for Fine Arts.
